For instance, with science, you let him go in the direction of his interest at the time instead of applying a random order as done in school. Perfect! Also, isn't it cool that he ended up picking up a book that you made available once when he wasn't interested, but he knew it was there, and did pick it up on his own when you least expected it because he was ready or interested finally. Awesome stuff!As for history, I love your perspective at this time. Your son let you know his lack of interest. You took the conversation away from the sequential nature you had been doing and just felt around for an area of interest. Now, you are looking for a good match resource. Again, beautiful! And, it might take you a few months or even more to find the right fit. Everything doesn't have to be full speed ahead. You open yourself up to his direction, and you will find something that you will feel might work for him.I liked some of your brainstorming already, and that is SO part of collaboration.
